Account

Delete your account

You can remove your RentalGuard account and everything in it at any time, from the app or by email. This page says exactly what goes and what does not.

In the app

Open Settings → Account → Delete account, read the confirmation, and confirm. Deletion starts immediately; you are signed out and the app removes its local copy of your inspections at the same time.

By email

If you no longer have the app, or cannot sign in, write to privacy@rentalguard.ai from the email address your account uses, with the subject "Delete my account". We will confirm it is you, delete the account, and reply when it is done — within 30 days, usually within a few.

What is deleted

  • Your account: the sign-in identity from Apple or Google, your name and profile photo.
  • Every inspection, with all its photos, videos, damage marks and location data.
  • Every report and its PDF. Report links you have shared stop working.
  • Vehicles and documents you saved in the app.
  • Any copies of your photos we kept for training the damage detector.
  • Purchase records held on our side, and your email in any waitlist you joined on this site.

This happens at once on our live systems. A backup copy can survive for up to 30 days before it is overwritten, and is used for nothing but restoring the service after a failure.

What is not deleted

  • Your Apple subscription. Deleting the account does not cancel a yearly pass; Apple bills it, and only Apple can stop it. Cancel it in your Apple ID subscription settings first, or you will be charged again at renewal.
  • Copies you sent to other people. A PDF you emailed to a rental company is theirs to keep.
  • Records the law makes us keep. Purchase and invoice records stay for the period tax law requires, without your inspections attached.
  • The audit trail. The fact that an inspection was created or a report was generated stays as an anonymous event, with no link to you.

Before you go

Deletion cannot be undone. If you are in an open dispute with a rental company, export the report PDFs first — once the account is gone, we cannot produce them for you.

If you only want to stop sharing your photos with us for training, that is a switch in Settings and needs no deletion. If you only want to sign out, that is Settings too.
